Anyone using the backlit Logickeyboard? Issues

After a different keyboard died I grabbed a backlit Logickeyboard, ProTools version. It's nice but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the Function keys to work properly. With the previous keyboard, all F keys had their typical actions, so F1 is Shuffle Mode, F2 is Slip Mode, etc. The entire top row ow the keyboard had its ProTools-specific command.

Now, with this new keyboard, those top row Funtion keys only operate if I hold down the Function key that's on the bottom row and then hit the F key of choice. I checked System Settings--Keyboard--Keyboard Shortcuts and toggled some things but nothing seems to work.

I finally found an FAQ which mentioned that you must "unlock" the Function key by pressing Command-Function. This was new to me.

Strange! I had 2 of those and never had an issue with the F keys. Currently using an Astra backlit keyboard that I like as much.

Eric, are these better than the EditorsKeys keyboards? (I had one which lasted about a year before things started failing).

I'm not familiar with the EditorsKeys but I can say that I like this one quite a lot. Not just because of the lights -- the feel of the keys is far more important to me and these are very good. The backlit is a bonus, though it's one that definitely comes in handy in the evenings.
