Default together at the same time , or software upgrade ?

With the Command 8 , lcds ...
can you see the name and the volume at the same time for each track ?
that is one thing that bugs me about my 002. I have to nudge the fader ,
just to see what the vol. is at ,or hunt it on the main screen.
I would get it ,even if only, for the feature of simultaneous view,
of the volume value ...and name of the track .
I looked at the manual, under house view and the 3 others...
but it still was not clear to me.
the pictures of the product only show the volume numbers on the lcd.
Is there just a lame toggle switch ,
or can they be together at the same time ?

I wish, but it doesn't do it. It seems as if the track name comes back faster but it does go away.

To see fader value without having to nudge the darned fader, press the Display switch on the C8 (make sure theconsole is in Pan view). That'll show fader values for a short time, then revert back to track name.
I know this isn't exactly what you wanted (to see both name and fader value simultaneously) but it's way better than having to nudge a fader just to see its current level setting.
The same (Display switch) works when you're viewing Sends too - press Display, see the value without having to jag the encoder.

Hope this helps

Thank you for the tip,
I will check in a bit to see if I can get that to work for me...
It really would be better then the nudge,
... (and accidental moving of the faders value occasionally) !
I guess every thing has its ups and downs.!

If you press and hold Command/Ctrl on the modifier keys and push display mode. The volume levels will stay on the lcd same for sends etc.To deactivate push pan

thanks,... yes that is better then "the nudge"
It kind of goes with out saying that this command8 is for HD systems as well, and it is all about ease of operation and function.
having vol. and name is kind of a must for channel strips ...!
I really think they should have implemented this very basic feature,
It would be used way more then send vol and pan views.

with the 002 I could understand as there was no LCD room to do this.
BUT, on the C8 , There is Plenty of LCD ROOM =
(110-character =55 characters x 2 rows)
easily enabling this to be done If so chosen.
Maybe it could get a software update....or some one could make some kind of patch , as this is a SOFTWARE issue , Not hardware.
...Technically It could be done, It has the LCD space to do so !!
Having the edit window filling the entire monitor, and then all the vital info on the control surface.
... O -well, would have been nice.
