Change for what seems like change's sake is never good. I have to wonder what this will do for iLok license assets?

Ultimately it'll make version numbers more closely aligned with release limits.

License issues are mentioned in FAQ.

While it'll take some getting used to..... there have been MANY times where I thought "when did PT12.4 come out?" Not anymore I suppose.

So the license issues are but they don't talk about the situation where people needed a new license asset when PT12 changed the version number immediately after the decimal point

That only happened at 12.6.

Or am I missing something?

You may be but let me explain it better if I can. Avid did that on a version change that's true. What I'm getting at is how literal will iLok take this change and see it as a new PT version? We've all seen how wacky iLok can be. Sure Avid says it'll be okay but will it really? Would you trust Avid on this?

The version name won't be strictly tied to the release limit. Just the numbers will more closely aligned.
