Xpand2 playing wrong notes once recorded.
Ive had this strange issue happen a couple of times now and can't put my finger on it. Yesterday a band I was recording asked me to add in some midi trumpets. So I played the track and started playing my midi keyboard to record the notes I needed they all sounded in key, but when I played it back the notes were out of key and I had to move them all down a semi tone. This is the 2nd time I've noticed this when playing midi. This has totally confused me probably because I'm not a midi guru. If anybody here could shed some light on this or has to experienced this issue and can help me out it would be much appreciated :)

Re: Xpand2 playing wrong notes once recorded.
Probably something in your keyboard. Like transpose is turned on, but not for MIDI, or something like that.
Don't forget you can just record the AUDIO from your keyboard instead. Benny Blanco says he does that for all his productions. No MIDI at all. If you are just recording MIDI into a VI though in PT, I would check the settings on the VI. Some of the samplers like Structure have transposition options that would do what you describe.

Thanks DC-Choppah I've never messed with the keyboard that's why Im curious how this has just started happening it's only a 2 octave midi novation keyboard. Where will the transpose option be, is it in the Pro menu's anywhere ?

Re: Xpand2 playing wrong notes once recorded.
I have a Novation Xio synth and the transpose option is under the global menu.
