Default Edit one midi note, the rest disappear

I'm having a strange glitch. I'm working with an instrument track, editing the note lengths and pitches of the midi notes. When I edit any single note, change the length or the pitch, the rest of the notes disappear. If I break the clip so that there is a short clip that only contains the note in question, I can edit that note without effecting the other notes. But, this isn't a solution, as I shouldn't have to break my clip up at every single note just to edit the midi notes. Is anyone else having this bug? Does anyone know a fix?

Running PT 2018 on a PC.

Had the same on an iMac with PT2018.7 - had to consolidate the midi to make it one clip otherwise, anytime I did anything with it the rest disappeared and when I clicked undo it didn't undo properly either.

A little more info? Are you in NOTES view? Are you on an instrument track itself or in the midi window(and does it act different if you switch)? Are the other notes highlighted when this happens? Have you trashed prefs(always worth doing for any odd behavior)? What exact version of PT?

The only fix, or should I say workaround, I know of is, as mentioned above, to consolidate the region. For me, 2018.7 hasn't fixed this issue but it does seem less frequent than before.

There's a huge list of bug fixes for 2018.7. I'm disappointed to find that this issue didn't make the cut.

Perhaps it was a lower priority because a workaround exists, or perhaps it was too difficult to resolve in a few months time. Regardless, I hope it gets fixed soon.

Best,

Geoff

Its not fixed in .7

I still get it here and there. Try the consolidation trick though.

I have it for the first time in PT 12.8 (mac mini OSX 10.12.6). The 'consolidate clip' workaround is effective, but a huge nuisance to insert in the workflow.

Yes. Especially when working on a long midi passage. You have to do it several times so that the notes won’t disappear.
