Default BF76 to Desser II

Hey everybody. I am currently working on a session on PT 6.4 with a 001. I have a P4 1.6.(Pretty Old, I know). Anyway, I have about 20 plugs on a session and my cpu usage meter in PT is sitting just under halfway. The main Compressor I am using on the vocal bus is a BF76. The session plays back awesome. Once I insert a Desser into the chain on the Vox Bus, my CPU usage meters stays pretty much the same, until about 2 1/2 minutes into the song when it suddenly spikes for no reason. It is making it impossible for me to Bounce.
The wierd thing about this though is that I am using a mixing template I created. All of the other three songs I have done so far have had no problems, and have a similar track count and all of the same plugs. I have already used audisuite for everything except the Aux busses for this particualr session.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, my recording allocation time is set to 7 mins

Thanx in advance

Kris:
If the plugs include DVerb, trying instantiating a dither before the DVerb. When DVerb sees no signal, as when you stop playback, it tries to calculate the number of angels that can dance on the head of a pin, sucking the life out of your CPU.

Thank you for your reply, Bob. I already have a dither in front of Dverb though. Thank you for your quick response.
