MIX core card as audio host in 10.3.2

OKay, I know I wasn't supposed to assume anything about PT HW in 10.3.2, but here I am, and I can't get the MIX core card to serve as my G4's audio card.

I've selected it in System Preferences.
I've selected in in Audio MIDI setup.

The sound still comes out of my computer's speaker and not the via the MIX card to my 1622.

About Digidesign CoreAudio Drivers for Mac OS X 10.3.x "Panther"

Version 6.2.2 and 6.2.3 of the Digidesign CoreAudio Driver for Mac OS X 10.3.x are only available as part of the Pro Tools 6.2.2 or 6.2.3 installer process.

The standalone version 6.1.2 of the Digidesign CoreAudio Driver will NOT work on OS 10.3.x. The standalone version on this page requires Mac OS X "Jaguar" version 10.2.6, 10.2.7, or 10.2.8 and will not work with Pro Tools 6.2.2 or 6.2.3
There is no separate standalone version of the Digidesign CoreAudio Driver yet available for Mac OS X 10.3.x. A standalone version for 10.3.x is expected in Q2, 2004
Installation of Pro Tools 6.2.2 or 6.2.3 is required to use the versions of the Digidesign CoreAudio Driver included with those installations:

Pro Tools 6.2.3 for Mac OS X 10.3.2
