Question OMF interleaved stereo

Does OMF support interleaved stereo>? I'm interfacing with Pro Tools, and although Cubase 6 will import/export the OMF as stereo, it only comes into pro tools as a mono. Any solutions?

What version of Pro-Tools are you importing into?

Pre version 10, Pro-Tools did not use interleaved files...

Ahah! that explains it. I tried with someone on v 8 and v 9. I guess I have to separate the files into dual mono, which is a pain. Do you happen to know of an app or batch processor that can separate interleaved .wav into L/R?

Avid's OMF does not support interleaved at all, AFAIK.

I found http://www.monkey-tools.com/products/sound-grinder/
and http://www.audioease.com/Pages/Barba...fications.html

but I can't find one for windows.....There are plenty of apps that turn L/R into interleaved, but not the other way around.....

Oops, sorry, I am wrong again, but just ignore that.

How about splitting within QuickTime? Since QuickTime 7 Pro can be installed on PC (I use it on XP, Vista, and Win7) I guess it would work. (QTPro7 is still a current, purchase-able license.)

I'm at home now or I'd check this before posting the link:

Thanks Postman, but I can already do that using Cubase, its just kind of tedious and "Exporting" to go back and forth from dual mono results in a lot of used disk space.

I'm just hoping that there is an application someone's made in order to do these types of conversions. Cubase unfortunately doesn't have this feature built in.

Waveagent is a free cross platform app that will split stereo or polyphonic files to mono. It is made by sound devices. Free download.
