Default Marketplace Overkill

Ok, so there been a lot of upset here of late and this is more of an observation than a grumble but i really think they've overdone it with the Marketplace links:

1) It' in the main menu
2) It's in the plugin menu
3) It's in the audiosuite menu

Hummm, correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this just a web page of the Avid website, it's not even an app store of any kind. Don't get me wrong i'm all for the in app purchases but something like a single marketplace menu under the main Pro Tools menu, much like the Apple app store would suffice. I really don't thnk we need it staring us in the face on the main toolbar and all the plugin menus. Kind of feels like the old Peak LE days where they showed all the pro features in the menu, greyed them out and stuck a pro box next to each of them.

Interesting. I have yet to dive in to Protools 10. I'm waiting for the trial for some tests.

Can these menu items be hidden, at the very least in the plugin and audiosuite menus ?

If not, could you tell me where exactly these menu entries are located in the menus in relation to the plugins ?

I can understand AVID. Much like my iPhone/iPad, links to the store pop up everywhere. Most of the time, it's context sensitive. Looking at plugins? Add a link to get more. Kinda handy.

More or less. Having asked about something like this for years, I felt it was a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully it's just step one.

I also think the marketplace-link is annoying. But nothing I can't live with:)

I am a little worried.

I don't like adverts in my working environment and this feels like an advert. The file menu seems ok for it, but not the plugin menu.

No mechanic keeps a business card of a tool dealer glued to the inside of their toolbox.
