Default Pro Tools 10 crashing at Launch

Hey guys, so after a week or so not using Pro Tools, I finally decided to launch it back up and do some vocal covers.

Well..the minute I hit the Pt icon(exe) it brings up the window that says "Loading Pro Tools..., the process is up in the Task Manager, and then it just expectantly quits. Doesn't get to the plugins, nothing.

I've tried restarting my machine multiple times, Reinstalling PT10 from the disk, using the Trasher. I've googled it. And I cannot come up with a solution as to what's happening..

This probably won't solve the immediate issue (but then again, it might!). I see you have partitioned your main drive, and are attempting to use that partition as a recording drive? That won't work. Once you get past THIS issue, you will encounter numerous dae errors because of the lack of a separate, dedicated recording drive. Re-read the system requirements, this is very well stated.
I see one of your RAM sticks is different than the other two. PT doesn't like mis-matched RAM.
Those are the things I see. Anybody else?

I would definitely pull the Mushkin RAM, then come back and tell us what happened.

Make sure you have right clicked the icon on the desktop and selected "Run As an Administrater" I've seen that have an effect.

It might be faster to reinstall PT. Than to spend forever troubleshooting it.

True enough, but be sure to do a COMPLETE uninstall of PT and re-boot before you try to re install PT.

In my experience, a complete uninstall, reboot, cclean, and another reboot have fixed more "problems" than I want to admit to.

This piece of Cowboy wisdom is spot on.

With a re-install in mind, here are some important details. When you UN-install Pro Tools, you MUST also uninstall the HD driver(its an option when you start the Change>Uninstall process). When you install, you should right-click the installer/setup icon and Run as Administrator. Once Pro Tools is installed, right-click on the PT icon and select Properties, then find the tab that lists these 2 items(which you will check):
Always Run as Administrator and
Disable Desktop Composition
