Wow 8.0.4? To download or not to download? Knowing me and all of The White Noise problems I have been having IM going to download but I sure hope it doesnt break my system. The Windows 7 32bit and 64bit support is great, to bad I dont have Windows 7.

It good here on the LE side with Windows 7. Just note 8.0.4 is the LAST release to be Vista and XP compatible

+1 for me, all works fine.

So if I upgrade from XP to Windows 7 64 bit, would I be able to use more than 3GB RAM for plug-ins?

Im obviously rather thick.

But cant download the update. It just goes round and round taking me to details about the download. OD I need to register or something? I actually don't want to register to be honest. Never like giving out my name, address, telephone etc and it causes problems if I want to sell my licence later on. Bit of a hassle for both parties.

Oh, and is the download really worth the bother. Doesnt seem like theres anything there that affects me just now?

Are you saying that when PTs 9 comes out there wont be a version of XP?

I use a lot of other software and Im really really happy with my XP PC system because I know it like the back of my hand. Win 7 I will, but was looking at that at least a year away yet

WHere did you get this info?

Yes I just saw that. Shame. It takes years to really get to know an OS, but PTs 9 when it comes out wont be enough to make me switch. I can hang on another year.

I plan to set up a PC soon with Win 7 just to get to know it. With XP Im in about editing registry stuff with no fear, doing commands from the console etc. Im not a computer expert but Ive actually got it running better now than I ever did and learned a lot about it over the years. Theres rarely nothing cant get to the bottom of (issues I mean)

Could be 8.1, With ADC, Just kidding. But you never know. Elastic Audio came out in 7.4, So who knows what toys Avid's got in store for the remainder of PT 8.
