Nah, I clearly remember detroitkruk, and how could I not. This is what you get when you dedicate a few hours of time and help running specifically requested benchmarks to make sure a computer system will perform and do exactly what they need before they make a heavy investment spending their hard earned dollars.

The pleasure was mine detroitruk. Not sure what build you eventually went with back then, but that old Q6600 sunburst79 rig I referred you to still holds up to this very day. My own is still in use and turned out to be a good investment. I'm hoping to build a 6-core system soon. If you want any benchmarks or tests run on that specific rig, just give me a shout and I'll be more than happy to get them going for ya Tim. And if you have one of those bad boys up and running before me, I'll definitely be asking you a few questions before I take the plunge myself.

Thanks man,

Shane

Nah bro, there's specific posts and threads you'll always remember over the years. One's where you've spent half a day running requested benchmarks to give an individual a hand so they dont go out and blow their hard earned money on a bad computer build will be etched in your memory. The original Quadzilla thread I was pretty concerned because that rig was well over $3000. There was a ton of donated one on one tech support via email and Skype. Even guys like MattP, guitardom and a slew of others were doing what they could. I wanted every Quadzilla user to have a flawless system just as mine was at the time, as the money invested for many artists was pretty steep. I know you do exactly the same with the I7 thread and know exactly where I'm coming from on that. Some of the lads you'll definitely remember over the years.

Maybe I should write an ebook. How about, "A Decade of the DUC". That should sell, ya think?...or would the forensic scientist gig be better?

Shane

Just reading through this thread, reminiscing about the good old DUC days.

The Hobo's were in full force.

Hobos were totally kind - we could not get PT to download using Comcast's internet access (file was always corrupt). A very kind Hobo sent me a DVD to lend a hand.

Total class!!!

Thank you Hobos, one and all!

Lurking...
Got side-tracked by a job in record promotion. Hopefully getting back to the creative end.
