Default El Capitan 10.11.5

Greetings all -

Has anyone updated El Capitan to 10.11.5? If so, any issues with PT 12.4? I have yet to update to 12.5 because the responses on this forum have not been favorable.

The gui lag is real bad in 12.4 with El Capitan. It's better in 12.5. But seemed crashy.

But this was on hackintosh with my old hardware. Have not tried with my skylake setup yet.

Yes, I did the whole shebang with one hiccup.

Was on OS 10.9.5 with PT 12.4 (latest version of)... And saw new EUCON drivers are only supported from like OS 10.10.4 onwards... (That surprised me!)

That was the first time I thought by not upgrading OS I might miss out on functionality. Also, I'm still rocking the Mbox Pro 3... And it's only currently approved to OS 10.11.3... So I cloned the OS drive to be reboot-able/restorable if anything was majorly messed up.

Did the upgrade to PT 12.5 first on OS 10.9.5. Seemed to work fine. Upgraded OS X... 30 mins later, El Capitan and Mbox Pro working! Also, PT 12.5 and other audio apps doing fine... (Except Soundflower, upgraded that later, working again.)

All was well -- except my external array holding my cloned drive (and audio and session drives) would not mount -- and needed a firmware upgrade that couldn't be installed with 10.11.5... So I ripped out the cloned drive and was able to boot back to 10.9.5... Install firmware... And am rocking without problem now for several days on 11.11.5...

I should add, I have never had problems with excessive crashes with Pro Tools. Just one or two a month... Maybe. I use PT all day, e'ry day... Except when I take the kids to the zoo.

So far, glad I did the upgrade! I realize how much junk I need to delete off these hard drives... Good to purge the routine sometimes.

The only strange thing I see is what people here are referring to as "Gui Lag" (?). Slow meters and main counter. Audio and plugs are fine so far. Punch in and out are fine.

Oh well.

The only problem I have is with the 11Rack still having the AEE 6101 error where it ways that there's a cpu overload when there isn't. I'm constantly getting this error even when recording 1 track with no plugins. cpu is at 10%! Has been happening since PT12.4. I updated the 11Rack driver to 1.2.9 but nothing has changed. If anything is doing it more frequently.

Remove everything Avid on your computer except your plugins library. When I say everything I mean absolutely everything, at all levels.

Then reinstall.

This will solve your problems.
