BF76 Limiter?
The documentation on the Bomb Factory BF76 says:
Quote:
So how do I know when I'm compressing or limiting or both? There's no way to switch a limiter in or out like I've seen on some compressor/limiter combinations. I tried setting the attack at the minimum and the input at maximum and doing a bounce. The resulting waveform looks like its being compressed but not limited. There's certainly no brickwall limiting going on.

Re: BF76 Limiter?
The difference between compression or limiting is the ratio. Limiting is just very-high-ratio compression, essentially.

Re: BF76 Limiter?
Generally speaking, any ratio 10:1 or higher is considered limiting. Below that, is compression.
Brickwall limiters and some of the unique characteristics associated with them are in a slightly different category than 'just' limiters. --Bill |
