Chris I don't believe that motherboard will work. Although it has Pci-e, those slots are for graphic cards. The Pci-e slots you need are the shorter one, and they need to be side by side for installation of multiple hd card systems.

Hope you haven't bought it already.

Are you saying this board isn't compatible with HD core/accel cards? The slots ARE side by side, they DO accomodate the short connector on the HD cards and I and others are running HD2 at least on this setup without problems.

I think Jamaican's confused himself with the physical appearance of PCIe x1 slots and PCIe x8/x16 slots.
I haven't tested HD3 yet but the P6T6 works absolutely fine with HD2 PCIe.
See no reason why HD3 won't work.

Well, all the computer parts have been ordered. I guess we'll see when it all arrives. The HD3 system will probably be purchased by the end of the month...just trying to decide whether to go all out and get everything I've been putting off at one time, or to spread it out as I test the local market's waters.

It'll be fine.

When I was building my rig, I took dbjp's advice and eventually installed the core card in the slot furthest from the CPU, accel card next slot in, which is contrary to what the digi installation instructions say (unless they read the slot numbers back to front.) I say eventually because at first I followed digi's instructions and upon booting to windows was met with a heartstoppong BSOD. Taking the cards out and putting them where I'd been told to fixed the problem and the rest has been textbook.

Regarding the need for HD3, remember that your new PC will have savage amounts of native processing so you can run your bread and butter eqs and compressor/expanders as RTAS taking the load off your HD cards.

UPDATE:

In the last week of identifying a problem caused by punch in record, I've tried the HD cards in different slots in the MOBO and they work fine. Theoretically, with a good enough PSU, I'd think the P6T6 WS Revolution could handle HD5.

Has anyone recently set up a windows system that works with PTHD 8 PCI? I want to run a HD3 PCI setup on a modern quad PC. Many of the suggestions in this thread are unavailable now. Any new suggestions? I need to buy asap, thanks! I need a good motherboard with at least 3 PCI slots that will accept the 3 HD cards.

I know it's been a while since you posted, but how did you get around the heatsink issue with the Asus P7P55 board?

Anyone else using this one?

How about the Gigabyte GA-H55-USB3? Anyone try that one? I know internal graphics are a no-no with digi, but you don't have to use it.

I just built a PC with 3 PCI slots and an i7 processor that is running PTHD 8.0.4 on Windows 7 32 bit. It is the Intel DH55HC motherboard, currently available.

Intel DH55HC MOBO, which other components did you use?, thanks and regards Kurt
