It would be great to remove Core Audio separately from HDX. It's unusable anyway, because It can't be used at the time when the PT is loaded. From the side of Avid, HDX Coreaudio driver is a real bad joke.

Yes Core Audio only works when PT is closed which for me is not a big problem and I personally find it quite usable and use it fair amount for iTunes, SoundCloud, YouTube, Reason and Studio One

I have never done it but there are some workarounds ( if your not using any digital I/O on the OMNI while running PT) you can run from Optical out on the computer to SPTIF in on the Omni and play any computer sounds while PT is open (I think)
And then there is also a software app which allows you play computer sounds while in PT as well (I'll see if I can find a link)
