Default Extra space in main window

I have been using pt for awhile and have had this gap show in in the main windows and can't seem to find a way to make go away. Can anyone help?pt12.jpg

Change scrolling setting(under the OPTIONS menu). I think you have it to "continuous". My preference is "page". Try them all so you know what each looks like, and you may find one that fits your needs better than "the usual"
