Default PT 12 HDX + digi pre compatibility

does anyone know if the old digidesign pres are compatible with Pro tools 12 HDX set up or do i have to buy the newer avid pres?

Mic preamps. To be clear not an interface.

You'll need a MIDI I/O (Any Brand) if you plan on using ProTools Soft Remote.

Should work fine keeping the above in mind.

from my research, it seems to work with any midi interface, not jus the discontinued digi one so I should be good there.

Yes, any midi interface will work. We use the MOTU microlite.

Yep,working fine for the last 10 years with a generic MIDI interface.
