Default Sessions become distorted. Have to trash prefs frequently.

Hey all,

I'm having an odd issue. Lately from time to time when I open up sessions, there is a fuzzy distortion that is noticeable under every track. For instance, if I were to solo a piano track, it's very noticeable on every piano hit. The only way I can describe it is a fuzzy distortion whenever the any audio is played.
The only way to fix the problem is to trash my prefs.

Any idea what could be causing this?

I'm all up to date and am using 10.6.8

Thanks.

Any common plugins throughout?

I had an issue a little while back with PSP OldTimer, it was randomly distorting on transient material???

If you're using PT 9.0.5;

Have you deselecting " Minimize Additional I/O Latency" in Setup -> Playback Engine, this is a known source of distortion in PT 9.0.5.
