Multiple threads on the same subject are not allowed. Once is enough.

Besides your question could be better phrased - what exactly are you asking?

2013 Mac Pro
Model Identifier: 6,1
Qualified Models:
6-core 3.5 GHz
4-core 3.7 GHz
8-core

6 core + 64 ram enough for work?
20-30 Synth /FX/ Plugins/Mixing

NAtive + HDX
I'd still go with Vienna Ensemble Pro for VI's. Believe me, you'll save yourself a lot of headaches. It works flawlessly with PT.

8 core will be better than 6 core? Record & mix. Or 6-core enough ?

Pro Tools support 8-core Mac Pro ?( official )
Either will work. Something you're going to have to add to the equipment buy list is an expansion chassis to put the HDX card in as the iTrashcans don't have internal expansion slots.

500/1TB/2TB or more

SSD?
Raid?
Size is up to you but you can never have too much fast storage. RAID not necessary. Samsung 840 EVO ssd or 7200 RPM spinner non-green drives.

Or this

Either should work. And yes, you can use HDX and UAD cards in the same box.

I would just go with this one:

http://www.sonnettech.com/product/echoexpress3d.html

Then for hard drives, either of these would be fine (depending on how much you need):

http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Thund...lite-Dual-RAID

http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/Thund.../ThunderBay-IV

Note that with either one of those drives, you can set them to independent mode - JBOD (where each drive is its own thing). No need to use them in RAID configuration.

Also, if you get them with their drives already in there, those are good drives, but you can also get them as enclosures only, and add your own drives.

Typically, the minimum setup for drives is: The main Mac Pro system drive will contain programs, applications, plugins, and virtual instruments, including sample based programs.

Then the sample libraries of those sample based programs go on an separate drive (or more than one drive depending on how you want to split it up). Then you have a separate drive for recording audio to.

After that, you may want to have a general purpose drive for photos, documents, downloads, Itunes music, etc. (keeping them off the main system drive to avoid clutter). Beyond that, maybe a drive for backup of your system, and maybe another backup drive for you audio projects.

As for number of cores, the 6 core seems to be the best overall sweet spot for most people, just like with the old Mac Pros. Especially if you have HDX, which handles a lot of the processing for you.

HD 10 will not work with the new MAC Pro unless they released an update for 10 to work with Mavericks... The New Mac Pro has hardware that requires mavericks so you cannot roll back to Mountain Lion etc...

11 will work.

Thought Id mention it since its in your title and no one has said anything about 10 working on the new mac Pro.
