Protools 2019.10 installation fail MacOS 10.13.6

I've tried to install this update but no luck.
Tried both through AVID Link and downloading the update from my avid account.

Direct Download:

When downloading the file directly from my avid account as a .dmg file when I try to open the archive it tells me the file is corrupted. downloaded it several times...

When I go through Disk Utility and open the archive there it mounts but when i try to install it it fails instantly. When I try to copy the protools installer onto my desktop it tells me it cannot be copied but some files cannot be read.

AVID Link:
Files download and open fine but when installing it fails instantly.

Any advice? I'm on High Sierra 10.13.6

Try looking at your System Prefs >> Security & Privacy to see if you need to give permission for the file to be downloaded from an "unknown source" (not the iTunes App store). It may also be asking for your permission to run the installer. If you have either of those issues you should be able to click the padlock on the bottom left, input your user password, and grant those permissions. (This happens in Mojave anyway...)

yeah I've checked that already, there is no issue there, I can run the installer but the install fails when the installer starts writing files...

finally got this working!! downloaded the file again... not through Chrome, not through Safari, not through avid link....grabbed the link from avid, used that in JDownloader 2 and the dmg file opened and installed no problem.

I have no idea why this worked... but it did

So which browser did you use?

did not use a browser, copy the link from the AVID website into jdownloader 2, and that worked... strange but it did. Contacted avid and they also sent me a separate link that worked...

jdownloader 2 works without a browser? I've never seen a download manager utility that works outside of a browser.

Unless it’s an extension in your browser, that’s how they all work. Stand alone application.

Well, the three that I’ve used in the past were all stand alone. I assume they all are.
