Default Jean-Michel Jarre and the Schmidt Synth

This isn't strictly speaking a VI, but sure looks like one hell of a synth with a demo by the legendary Jean-Michel Jarre. Wonder when the VI version will come out?

Seen the video before in my wanderings through YouTube when looking for new softsynths. Looks like a beast and has a beastly price $21000 - see here: https://www.bigcitymusic.com/product...dt-synthesizer

It's an 8 voice synth that, according to their description on their site, is a no-compromise synth. How many times have we heard that one? Here's a link to the Schmidt site: http://www.schmidt-synthesizer.com/en/

If this thing really is the beast they say it is then the cpu usage would be huge; would be a good candidate for a dsp version.

Then again I'm reminded about the Korg OASYS how that was supposed to be the synth to end all synths. IIRC the cost was in the 5 figure range. How long did that last before Korg dropped it and came out with the Kronos that had as much if not more power at a way cheaper price?

$21k is a bit pricey!! Clearly they have a very clientele in mind! I'll wait for the plugin emulation!

Did you notice how casually one may lean on the Schmidt with ones elbow? Can’t do that with any VI.
