Default C|24 Stereo Speaker set up!

Hi, I am new to the forum.
Always have been helped out tremendously by tips and insights that you guys are throwing. Didnt get to thank you until now!

I recently purchases a C|24 unit.
We as a start out sound/media company, wanted to utilize C24 as a main contol surface.
As I was learning as I go, I was encountered a very novice question.

When connecting stereo monitor speaker L and R to C24, using DB25 to XLRfem, XLRm coming out of my speakers to 1-3 of DB25, right?
For now we only use two monitor speakers, so if I buy a cable with 6 more XLRfem, I thought it might just stat there and not being used.

There are two Alt-Out line output so I attempt d to plug speakers directly into those, but I couldn’t get any sound, however I couldnt think of going into I/O in my PT and configure.

Long story short, if i were to connect two monitor speakers to main output of c24, buying a DB25 to XLRfem would be the best solution?

Many thanks in advance.
I have been searching for a long period, couldn’t seem to find the clear method..
Would appreciate it a lot!!

Welcome to the Community

Best to check the reference guide/manual here:

http://akmedia.digidesign.com/suppor...uide_41362.pdf

If you have a 8 connection db25 snake you don't need to use more than two of the outs as the rest will be there for future connections.

Let us know if you get stuck again

Thank you very much for your input.
Yeah i was reading manuals many times before I got the c24 just to jump on ot and do the homwork.
So just get db cable to xlr fem and use only two for stereo, leave the reat for future use right? Got it.

Thanks. I am sure ill research&ask bunch of questions!

Actually, I came across this thought,

I am using Apollo 8P.
Is it rightful to connect the main out 1-2 from Apollo into C24's Monitor-Input as stereo? Would I be able to get a full monitor control on c24??

do this, main outputs from Apollo 1-2 should go into the monitor C/24 DB25 inputs for left and right. From the C/24 DB25 output 1 should go to the Left monitor and DB25 output 3 should go to the right monitor. C/24 is set up for surround sound so the outputs are different. Try it, it works for me.

Thank you!! This sounds like the way.
Just to confirm then, should i get db25 to female or male end??
I’m using genelec 8020 pair so i use xlr male to TRS jack. (TRS out from interface to Xlr going into monitospeakers)

Jist want to make purchase right and future-proof.

Thank again for your input!

Apollo is TRS so DB25 to TRS for that snake and if the Genelecs are XLR then yes DB25 to XLR and should be male for that snake. The DB side of the snake will normally always be male. Glad to be of help!
