And what does this 8-channel bank? What does it affect?
Yes it works. It has a BANK button to move across in banks of 8 tracks. The only hitch is when you ALSO have a Digi/Avid 8 channel controller like the 002 and 003. With those controllers, the tend to lock out a bank of 8(only 1 bank of 8). If you use any other interface, you should be able to access any track by using the BANK and NUDGE arrow buttons.

Wow too bad - I like mine.

I made an article that details how to properly install the Presonus FaderPort on a Windows 7 system running Pro Tools 10. I also provide the working drivers and firmware and a step-by-step installing procedure.

The article can be found here: https://warewhulf.files.wordpress.co...-pro-tools.pdf

As said, it will work fine. But since you have the M-Audio Projectmix, its very likely that it will function exactly the same as it does with 002/003 so the projectmix will "own" the first 8 tracks(but the Faderport will be able to access all other tracks). The Behringer X-Touch is finally shipping(as of mid-October 2015) and that should prove interesting(I have one on order)

I have a fader port which I love but have had to stop the firmware updates as it seemed to lose another element of control (motorised fader beings the main victim) with each incremental update past a certain point. I guess this is part and parcel of avid phasing out HUI comparability in favour of the EUCON protocol?

my FaderPort still works in PT 10.3.10 and OSX 10.10.5.

Also adjusting the Right Pan works with Shift mode engaged on the FaderPort!!
