Newbie Help Recording Volume
Sometimes when I record a particular voice in a song the volume level will be fine. However if I record the same voice in another song I might not be able to turn the volume up enough for the voice to be heard. What is the best way to manage the volume of the tracks so that such an issue does not occur?

Another thing I like to do, is to use Bomb Factory to bring up a tracks level.

The thing is man, when someone tells you to use Bomb Factory to turn up your vocal tracks, it's like telling you they don't know how to turn up their vocal tracks. I mean seriously, pro tools is the greatest but when it comes to amatuers it's also the easiest. Here's what I would do. Look for some basic compression levels for lead vocals through google, or maybe this thread has something handy. Basically it's like: low knee, low ratio, low attack, mid-hi release, and then mess around with the threshold until you really like what you got. sometimes i like to turn the threshold all the way down so I can really hear what the attack and release are doing (someone PLEASE correct me if i'm stupid). Screw bomb factory. hell if you wanna do bomb factory just download EASY MIXING DOT COM you can find it at easymixing.com psych -moto
