Default Pitch Correction

Hey all, In the past I've used an outboard pitch correction box (Antares) but it's fairly old and I've heard good things about some of the plug-ins. Any suggestions/warnings about specific plug-ins. Would like to tap into your collective experience before I fork out up to $500.00
Thanks
Rick

Hey Rick - I'll use as many as 4 different pitch correction plugs to tidy up a track & vocals... that said, if I had to pick just one, I'd have to go with Auto-Tune. You'll avoid most machine-like artifacts if you work in graphical mode & slow the retune speed down to 35 - 50, or even more (this being for vocs, not instruments... they sound kinda funny when they "work their way up" to pitch). Tip - don't just watch what you're drawing, listen to how it's effecting the voc/inst being tuned. You may have to exaggerate the drawn line to get the note to pull to pitch when the retune speed is slowed down, but it'll likely sound more natural... YMMV.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Warmest Regards,
Brian

Thanks Brian, that's great advice and some good tips as well. Appreciate your help. I've got credit card in hand and Auto Tune seems to be the way to go.
Here's a virtual beer on me!
Cheers
