Default NEW TO THE MBOX...PROBLEMS WITH MY TRS inserts

I recently bought my new Mbox, and so far I was happy with it recordingg through the mic inputs, last night I tried to plug my guitar directly from my FXS to the M box through the TRS inserts, and there was no sound, I am concerned that it might be damage from factory, cause its brand new, and there's no reason for it not to play a sound....
Or maybe I am jsut doing something wrong on the configuration, (i read the guide, and i think im doing it right)

please help me out I am desperate

There is simply reason that there no sound : You can't record through the inserts in Pro Tools.
Plug your guitar through the mic in 1 or 2 and use the DI mode (orange light).
In the Pro tools mix window select the right input (1 or 2) press Rec button and set the gain (on your MBox) and you can now record your guitar. (you should use sans amp or ampli tube plugin for good sound).

You can't burn a CD directly from Pro Tools LE.
You must first create a bounce, then you will burn it with an other soft like toast (for exemple).

You should look at your Pro Tools reference guide pdf file for how to bounce (from page 400) and also at (page 507) : bounce procedure are explained.

-To hear the sound of the speakers of your Mac... got to the sound control panel and in the output section select "integrated".

-It good to have an external HD because it's not good to record data on your system Drive (because of system crash and also because if your system drive is too loaded, it will go slowly) and it's easy to carry it when you do audio with other poeple.
Conclusion : If you can afford it ... buy it. (ask Digi for compatible drives, Firewire ones need Oxford 911 chipset).
But you know, I've got a G4 733Mgh / 512 Mo RAM / 40Go 5400rpm and it works...

-Toast will be easier.

-For your last question (Toast support), (sorry but my english is not perfect) : when you say Cd burner, is it harware or software ?
