Also on Ultimate so I can't confirm but this MUST be a bug/mistake unless they're literally TRYING to hemorrhage users. It wouldn't make any sense to cut people off from their sessions unless they upgrade to Ultimate without even announcing it. The sad part: there is a part of me thinking Avid would in fact stoop this low, but I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt for now...it's just too wacky.

Hi Teej,

What do you mean "also in Ultimate". I don't have that issue, my voice count is still 384 voices at 44.1/48Khz. Did i miss something??

Cheers!

No I mean I'm also using Ultimate so I can't confirm the problem on my end. :)

Yes, I can confirm it.
Have a big session going and now 30 of the tracks are greyed out and not working.
Luckily I installed this in addition of 2020.5 so I just went back to that version.

Hope this thing isn't intentional.....

I paid subscription till May 2021 and I think I have no chance to use future updates.
Next update will reduce voice count to 16

Thanks, my bad! It seems like a mistake, i give Avid the benefit of doubt as well for the time being, but if they did this on purpose to standard users, then they are pretty despicable.

Cheers!

I mean it really wouldn't make any sense...they're trying to get people on the subscription model...how would they accomplish that by making the product worse over time, not to mention screwing over all the current subscribers. Maybe they just don't beta test Vanilla PT as much as Ultimate?

I think, this is a bug and not on purpose.
I hope, there will be an official statement from avid about this...

Avid's decisions don't make much sense for long time now, so i'm not surprised if they pull out something like that...the are pretty "creative" with the shenanigans!

Maybe.....they have tested a "new feature"( ) for voice extension in standard PT and someone messed it up... Oh well.

Cheers!
