Default Sustain and Protools mp 7.4

Is there a way to set the sustain (see pedal) to be incremental instead of simply on off?

A sustain pedal is a non-latching momentary switch, therefore it is only on or off. Maybe your looking for an Expression Pedal, which will allow you to control any assignable variable MIDI controller value. Your keyboard controller will need to have an Expression Pedal input.

Here's an example of an Expression Pedal:

I'm using an axiom pro 61. So you're saying that with an expression pedal I'd be able to control the sustain beside it being on and off in PT?

What I'm looking for is a way to do like I do on a regular piano, and that is control the amount of sustain there is. On a regular piano, if I don't press the pedal down fully, there's is sustain, but not as much as there would be if I press the pedal down completely. That's what I'm trying to do. But in pro tools, with the pedal I have now 9Sp-2) it's either fully off or fully on. If I try to draw the sustain and put it at 64 for example, it doesn't change it as if half on.

MIDI defines sustain as either on or off. It is not a variable message in the MIDI standard. ≤63 off, ≥64 on.

I did not fully understand what you were asking, that is why I suggested a expression pedal. But, that would only be able to variably control MIDI for variable controllers.
