Pro Tools LE 7.3 not recognizing WAV files??? Why?
I have PT 7.3, I always used some different sound effects in the form of WAV files and they worked fine in pro tools, yet now for some reason PT is not recognizing these WAV files and will not open it. What is the problem??? Also, PT wont open other wav files that ive gotten from peoples song sessions (recorded in cubase) so that I could load them in PT and mix them. Help anyone...

First, upgrade to 7.3.1.
Can you open the files in another program? Are they really WAV files? What sample rate? Have you opened these exact files before or these new files?

Sorry, I do have 7.3.1, forgot to mention..Yes many of these exact wav files are ones that I have opened before. Regarding the wavs that Im getting from different people, no I dont know what their sample rates are. But even though, PT wont even open my old wav files that I use to use so I dont get it...

Yes, strange that you cannot open old files you used before.
When you say "open", are you importing the audio to a track or what? How are you using the audio?

Yes I am trying to import audio, then I select the wav files and it says that the files are not readible by pro tools. What about the files that I get from other people, any idea why those wavs arent opening either?

Are any of them 32-bit? PT can't read those.
I know this doesn't explain the files you used to be able to open, but I've gotten 32-bit files from people (from Nuendo) and they are totally unreadable.

Do the WAV files have the proper extension? Try manually typing it on the file.
"For cross-platform compatibility, all files in a session must have a 3-letter file extension added to the file name. Pro Tools 5.1 to 6.9.x session files have the extension “.pts,” and Pro Tools 5 sessions have the extension “.pt5.” Wave files have the “.wav” file extension, and AIFF files have the “.aif” file extension. " Have you tried drag and drop? " To use a BWF (.WAV) file in Pro Tools, you can drag and drop from the DigiBase Browser, Windows Explorer or Macintosh Finder, or a folder."
