how can i set the mbox as primary sound card?
need to set the mbox as my primary sound card so that i can hear everything (computer-wise, cd's etc for windows xp) through my speaker monitors, as I do not have any other speakers, just pro audio monitors.. i have utilized the traditional ways and the mbox does not appear as an option other than hardware. How can I make it appear as the option over my internal sound card? PLEASE HELP! Also, I will not appreciate any bad-mouthing if you think this question is stupid, just try to remember that everyone is not as smart as you are, or as mean. thanks in advance for the help.

Re: how can i set the mbox as primary sound card?
You have to install the wave-driver right click and "save as"
If you want to hear cd's too, play them with mediaplayer, and enable digital audio extraction. (normally the cd-rom is connected directly to the soundcard, but with the mbox this ofcourse isnt possible)

Re: how can i set the mbox as primary sound card?
Remember, however, that the wave driver and ASIO driver cannot coexist on the same system. Why, I have no idea...

Re: how can i set the mbox as primary sound card?
please forgive my ignorance, but to install do you place the unzipped file (the wave driver) in with the other audio drivers? i've done this and still no system sounds or cd's through the mbox. also i can't seem to find the "enable digital audio extraction" feature in media player or a way to assign mbox as the default audio device. i'd really appreciate any help, thanks.

Re: how can i set the mbox as primary sound card?
to install the wavedriver:
create a new temporary folder, and drag the content of the zipped file into it. Then read the PDF-document that accompanies the files. What it says in short: Start the new haradware wizzard and point it to the folder you stored the files in. After you installed the wave-driver, you can remove the temporary folder... DAE with mediaplayer: launch mediaplayer goto extra/options choose the tab "devices" doubleclick on your cdrom station set it to digital playback (you have to repeat this step for every cdrom device in your system) (the names of the menu's can be slightly different. I had to translate them from Dutch...)

hey thanks, unfortunately it's still not working. media player was already set to digital. i reinstalled mbox via the new hardware wizard and it asked for the driver, all went well but still no luck.
