Default Roland Octa-Capture crashes (PT 11 - Win 7 /64-bit )

Has anyone out there successfully run PT 11 (Win 7 / 64-bit) with a Roland Octa-Capture?

I have been running fine with PT 9 through PT 10.3.6. with this configuration. No problems at all. And in fact, PT 10.3.6 still works even after the PT 11 install, so I still have a functioning system.

However PT 11 crashes consistently. Hasn't ever worked. Sometimes the crash happens while loading libraries, etc. Sometimes I get as far as the select session screen. The crash point is not consistent. Here's the dump screen (and yes, I'll do a Sandra report if necessary):

Any thoughts?

I am using Windows 8 64 bit, but I am getting runtime error shutdowns in different situations too with Octa Capture in PT11. Usually it won't even have Octa Capture available as an option, and will load with Full Duplex ASIO driver or Generic ASIO driver. The few times it found Octa Capture, it gave runtime errors and shutdown before I could play a project. 10.3.6 works fine as far as I have seen.

OK, one more bit of information.

Just to see what would happen, I installed the drivers for my old Mbox2 tonight and Pro Tools 11 worked just fine.

So it would appear that there is some problem specifically with Pro Tools 11 interacting with the Octa-Capture drivers.

I am in contact with Roland support, so I will update if/when I find out more...

I don't think I have heard one person getting the roland quad, octa, or studio capture working with 11 on Windows (not sure about Mac). We are all in the same boat here.

I also have a support call in with Roland.

Quad capture is crashing PT11 on my Win7 system also.
Working with PT 10.3.6 though.

My Saffire Pro40 works fine on both PT11 and PT10.3.6

Anyone tried the PT11.0.1 yet with Roland Quad/Octa?

Just gave it a try with PT 11.0.1. Same symptoms.

I guess we will need to wait for updated drivers from Roland...

I called Steve at Roland (he's there "Recording" guy in tech support) and they're still waiting for Avid to pass along copies of Pro Tools so they can test and troubleshoot.

For my benefit he setup PT 10 with the Octa Capture and it ran without issue. I failed to ask if he'd updated the firmware and driver to 1.5 though.

In my experience with the PT11 demo the Octa Capture was a disaster. Barely any playback at all. Somethings different about PT11. With my old Fast Track Ultra you can't change the buffers without a restart which isn't an issue in PT10.

I think every interface maker is going to have to recode their drivers just for Pro Tools. We'll see how long that takes...

Start holding breath..............now.

Same here. Dosn't work. Sometimes I manage to start it, but very very buggy.

Thinking of geting a Focusrite card as people seem to have succes with it, if this isnt solved ASAP.

Do you know who he is in touch with? These are the kind of issues where we need help from the device manufacturer to make any kind of progress.
