Black square dot on aux track [PT-285434]

I'd expect maybe more folks to be complaining about these glitches instead of two (edit: five, six, seven,... mmm, maybe I'm wrong about it not being common, hah... so wrong ) if it was hitting many M1 Monterey users on 2022.4. So might be worth excluding stuff local to your computer by trying trashing prefs and then creating an entirely empty session and seeing if that problem reproduces. Then filing a support case so Avid can reproduce/get more info from you (and post the case number here).

I suspect we are going to have lots of GUI fun ahead as the Pro Tools ecosystem catches up to the latest graphics stack on Mac.

M1 and Monterey 12.3.1.

Everything else smooth.

Restarted with macOS 12.3 and there it is. So... not M1 related. Logged as PT-285434.

Looks like the top-most portion of the meter is using the wide-meter graphic component while the rest of the meter is using the thin-meter graphic. I have no idea if that's the culprit, but the programmer in me has created similar bugs in the GUI. What's odd at the moment is that no one else is seeing it. Maybe try switching to wide then back to thin.

I'm not seeing the black box next to the Aux Meters, but I do see this one. Big Sur 11.6. But boy am I glad to finally see VCA meters lining up correctly and much less of the big black areas.

Yes, Intel i9 16" MBP, Monterey 12.3.1. The sig is correct.

I don’t get a black box on the aux, or the black line, but I do get periodically a big square black box that looks the same except it’s a large square (sometimes two side by side a couple inches apart) up at the top of the GUI covering the marker/tempo etc. tracks. 2018 Mac mini i7, Big Sur. I’m on a 30” screen (2560x1600) and the black box is about a two-inch square. Seems like a graphic glitch, but didn’t happen in 2021.12. I’ll have to pay more attention to when it occurs.
