Default Track management issues with M1 Max Mac Studio

Hi braintrust,

I'm struggling with an issue deleting or duplicating tracks on my spiffy new desktop that seems to be Apple silicon related.

Selecting a single track in a basic session (25 mono and 25 stereo audio tracks only, no groups, no plugins) and deleting or duplicating the track deletes ALL or duplicates ALL tracks present.

My Setup - M1 Max Mac Studio 64GB RAM 1TB SSD, macOS 12.5, ProTools Ultimate 2022.4 or 2022.5.

The same session functions normally when running on my 2019 i9 MBP under macOS 12.5, both in ProTools Ultimate 2022.4 or 2022.5.

Any other Mac Studio users noticing this quirk?

Thanks,

E>

Quick update - this problem seems to be isolated to the use of the right click menu. It does NOT occur when selecting Duplicate and Delete commands from the app menu bar.

Are you attempting this action via a remote connection from another computer? There was a spotty issue with remote connections where some modifier keys (control/option/command) would be included in the action even when you're not actually pressing those keys, which makes me think that it could also erroneously delete more tracks than requested. It doesn't feel like faulty code, it feels like an issue with mouse/keyboard input. Long shot, but it bit me once or twice.

Thanks, Eric. Nothing elaborate as that. Working directly on the machine with my usual wireless magic keyboard and wireless Kensington trackball, but your comment got me thinking...

... I just tried my backup WIRED trackball and the "bug" wasn't there - things work as expected. It would seem that my issue is related to a connection over bluetooth. Interesting.....

Any chance it's not about the connection but about the mouse itself. Something programmed like Logi Options for Logitech or TrackBallWorks for Kensington.
