11.1 Download Triggering Avast Virus Alert

Avast is indicating a suspected WIN32:Evo-Gen infection in file BDM_Resource40C.dll when attempting to extract the PT11.1 installer after downloading. Stops the extraction dead in it's tracks.

Anybody else seeing this?

Nope, probably just a false positive.

Just disable your anti-virus before installing.

But first make sure you are downloading from the official Avid website.

If you are still concerned, download Malwarebytes (free version) and once its installed you can Right Click the unzipped PT11.1 folder and scan just that folder.

If there is an actual virus, Malwarebytes will find it, its probably just a false positive.

Windows Defender, SuperAntiSpyware, and Malwarebytes did not raise any alerts for me.

I believe it was a false positive. Installed and running but have run into a couple of hangs and a few blue screens, not good there, never had a blue screen before...
