Default Gigabyte GA-H81M-S1 + Core i5 + 8GB/1600 - will it work with MBox 2 and PT 8.0.5?

I need to improve performance of my system. Will it work with PT 8.0.5 LE and MBox2 interface..?

I can buy here in good price:

Gigabyte GA-H81M-S1 + Core i5-4460 + GeIL 8GB/1600

Does Core i5 processors are good working with my configuration? I need mainly expand RAM memory. My mainboard doesn't support now more than 4GB :/ Maybe someone can suggest any good hardware configuration with 8GB of memory..?

Thanks!

First of all, you posted this in the Mac section so you may not get much response(or are you building a Hackintosh?). Secondly, IMHO, i5 is not the way to go. The difference between i5 and i7 is night and day. For a budget build these days, I would go to eBay and look for a package deal on an X58 motherboard, intel i7 980X and 6(or 12)GB of triple-channel RAM. That combo can be found for under $500(I recently bought this for $450 with 12GB of RAM) and it will stomp any i5 build you could do, with certain compatibility(I can't speak for the motherboard you listed)

Upss.. I didn't notice i wrote in MAC forum :) eBay is not for me. Shipping cost are big, I'm from Poland. I think i will find here good offer at comparable price. Yes, I think about i7 now. I always used Gigabytes mainboards. I didn't have problems with Gigabyte, but Asus makes good motherboards too.

I'm going to move this to the Win section

I suggest you look at the i7 build thread http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=238426
