distortion (clipping) from 002r when using iTunes

When using iTunes or Roxio Jam, I'm getting a clipping noise. It depends on what CD I'm playing, and sometimes it's worse than others.

I have used different speakers and adjusted volume within iTunes and my 002r.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
