Purchase new mainboard?

Hi,
Can someome from Tech Support please advise whether I can purchase a new Mainboard for 11r direct from AVID and quote me via PM? I have tried to send an email through the AVID website but to no avail.

Just recently my 11rack went from hero to zero and is stuck on the boot screen. I have tried all the available fixes but its a brick. Although it is 3 years old it has had barely 12 months use because of my work roster.

Upon opening the unit i discovered that:
a) the 2 led's near the DSP chips actually have a red and a green side in the one chip and both led's are static. Is this normal?
b) the green led near the SW2 button in the middle of the board is flashing green. Normal.
c) my technical expertise is zero so i put the lid back on.

My ARC quoted $165 AU to diagnose the issue and up to $500 AU to repair depending on the problem. Plus postage which would be $140 AU for a round trip. So minimum just for diagnosis is $305 AU.

My 11 is my only ' dongle' for protools and i cant afford to lay out the cost of a new 11 and was hoping a new board would be somewhere in the middle road. (Bear in mind a new 11R in australia retails for $800 - 900) I have had this board repaired previously for the clock issue which swapped the problem of 44.1 & 88.2k not working to 48 & 96k. I dont care about this because most of my work is done at 44.1.

Yeah I have. Unfortunately I get the dreaded 'the number you called is disconnected' message

Gee whiz, I thought this would be a simple yes or no question.

It might be best to try calling again or sending an email, or maybe contact who you bought it from and see if they can get in contact with someone who would know the details.

I don't know the answer to the board question but knowing the service parts often have silly prices and normally need to be obtained through a Authorized Repair Center anyway I would look hard at buying buying a new unit of of eBay and selling the old one for parts. Last I knew you could get a new unregistered 11R rack minus software for >400.00 USD. Since its new it should have a warranty. A new board probably wouldn't if your servicing it yourself.

I can't imagine that the retail on the main board as a service part is any less than 300.00 and likely more. That's a hunch or guess however. I have no information on the actual cost. It could be 199.00 but I doubt it.
