Default Distortion sound from PT and Focusrite 24

Hello!

So I have everything setup with my new KRKs, balanced cables going into my Focusrite 24, and using PT 9.0.5.[bleep]

The issue I have now is when I try to play sessions I had from before, which were set to 48/24, I get a lot of distortion. My first thought was that the sample rates weren't the same, but the focusrite is set to 48khz. [bleep]

It works fine with newer files at 96khz. I have my settings at:

3cpu (of 4), 65%, and 1024/512 samples. Rest is default.[bleep]

I have tried with HD external on USB and focusrite on FW, [bleep]as well as firewire HD (FW800) from mac then next in chain is the Focusrite (FW400).[bleep]

I have a MPB 15in, external G-DRIVE 2TB.[bleep]

I updated the mixcontrol to 2.4, and downloaded the RTAS for the focusrite.[bleep]

What can be causing this?[bleep]

On top of that, I try to press play in PT at times and the play and stop buttons flash then nothing happens. Some have said its the samples (512/1024 etc) and ive tried changing to no avail.[bleep]

Any help would be appreciated :)

Thanks!

Have you deleted your prefs and databases, I had a horrible problem with static until I did that once.

Do you have Setup > Playback Engine > Ignore Errors during Playback/Record > Minimize Additonal I/O Latency, selected? If so, deselect; Minimize Additonal I/O Latency. (this seems to be a bug in 9.0.5)

The unchecking of 'minimize additional i/o latency' seems to have fixed both issues!

Thank you!!

Glad to hear the distortion issue is resolved, you may still run into a problem with the play button, changing the h/w buffer to anything other than what it's currently set to, seems to temporarily re-enable it. DTS has said (in another thread) that it's an issue they are working to resolve.
