There's a big difference between a PCI based USB card and an external powered USB hub.

I may be suffering from the same problem. I just got Mbox/LE 6.7 today. Installer hung up at 88% when the text box popped up telling me it was installing drivers. Now I can't uninstall to reinstall!

yeah... i used the pci card because digidesign warns against using a usb hub. I will look into getting one to try it out.

Any other suggestions in the meantime?

I've never seen Digi warn against USB hubs.
They have actually recommended them for Mbox noise related
problems.

Mark, my name is Jason. I can help you. I have set up PT on that motherboard before. Turning off the Raid in the BIOS is VERY tricky. Once it is completely turned off, PT will install. Call me on my cell phone anytime (I'm in Tennessee Central time). I will be glad to help.

Talk to you soon, Jason

Jason,

Awesome! Thanks for your offer to help. I have sessions at the commercial studio today but I will be back home tomorrow. Is there a time that's good for you?

Mark, please read the following for using this board (or call me):

Here goes....
-Go into the BIOS
-Select "Integrated Peripherals"
-Select "Onboard PCI Device" (fourth option)
-Disable "SATA RAID ROM" and "Serial ATA Controller" This disables the SATA 3,4,5,6 connections. For some reason PTLE and DIGI do not like the drivers for these connectors so therefore you can not use SATA 3-6 .
-get back to "Integrated Peripherals"
-Select "OnChip IDE Device" (first option)
-in the bottom section, set "OnChip Serial ATA" to "Enhanced" This allows you to use both the IDE connectors and the SATA 1 and 2 connectors at the same time.
-Now set "OnChip Serial ATA Mode to "RAID" (just for now, we will disable in a minute)
-Just below that, set SATA RAID ROM to "DISABLED"
-Now go back up to "OnCHIP Serial ATA Mode" and change it back to "IDE".
-Exit out of the BIOS making sure you select "Save and Exit".

That should do it. THe bad part about this motherboard is that you can not use SATA 3-6. They can't even be enabled.

Good luck with everything. Let me know if you need more help. Jason
