Weird feedback loop when using certain plug-ins.
After recently upgrading to a newer G5 along with upgrading to PT 7.3.1 with a new 002R, I'm experiencing an awful problem when using certain virtual instrument plugs.
When I create a new aux or instrument track in my session, and then insert either NI's Battery 3 or Akoustik Piano on that track, and then play that instrument in any way, the output of the instrument feeds back into EVERY channel in my session, including itself, which, if the level is too high, creates an awful runaway feedback. Also, the sound of that plug-in comes out of the left channel, but the right channel is where the feedback is happening. Even if the output of the plug-in channel in question is muted or sent to an unconnected output or bus, the plug-in sound comes up on all the other channels. This is so hard to explain. NI had never heard of such a thing and couldn't help me. I have no issues with other plug-ins, even other NI plugs. Help me! My only solution has been to insert the plug TWICE on the channel, where my midi track is sent to the 2nd plug-in, and the first instance of the plug-in somehow blocks the feedback. This is not a solution! Roger |
