Default Renew Waves Gold Native or spend money elsewhere..

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for opinions...

I just upgraded from my 002r to an HD2. My Waves Gold Native package WUP is due in a few weeks. I use quite a few of the plugins in the Gold bundle (C4, RVox, Rcomp, etc) partially because it is what I started on and used to and they seem to be pretty decent (I just got the Sony Oxford S-OX TDM so that may change your opinions on what I should get). I'm open to something else and just want opinions on what I could do.

I am running into CPU issues (even on a new 2.0G dual-core) running multiple virtual instruments (Reason, Philharmonik) and native plugins. So, I am looking at upgrading my Gold native to TDM instead of just renewing the WUP so a new TDM package/bundle isn't out of the question.

Thanks in advance for all constructive comments and opinions...

You can probably replace your entire Waves Gold dependency with Izotope Ozone (or even the limited bundle they are currently offering, Ozone, Spectrum, and Trash @ $299-).
As long as your WUPs is still current, you can probably pay for the Izotope bundle by selling your Gold bundle ASAP.
You will also get a few of the true mastering capabilities with Izotope that is lacking in Waves Gold.

Waves is pricey, but does sound great. If you are used to Waves, I'd say stay with it. Yes, there are many, many others. Everyone has an opinion - personal preference, really. However, just like a trusted piece of hardware, I find I get best results with plugs that I've been using for a while. You get to a certain speed/comfort level.
