Some stereo tracks randomly only play the left channel?

Anyone else experience this?

Just now I was editing and all of a sudden, I thought to myself, "Damn, everything feels a little left-heavy". Turns out that radomly, only some of the stereo tracksin my session are outputting only the left side. The meters only go up on one channel of the stereo meter, and I am definitely hearing only the left channel on only those tracks. Saving, closing and reopening fixes this.

I had seen it once or twice before in an earlier version of 12, but not since I upgraded to 12.7.1.

OS 12.6.1
Intel Core i7 4.01 GHz processor.

Sounds like a plugin problem. Instead of reopening the session try making inactive (not bypass) the plugs on the track, one by one to see if you can find the one that's causing the problem

Yep have had this happen on different projects on 3 separate PT systems - 12.7HD and 12.8 Vanilla. No plugins were active on the tracks. As you say closing and reopening the project fixes it.

I've had this happen as far back as I can remember PT6.9 ..?

The only solution i've ever overcome it with is duplicating the track and deleting the original one, or just straight making a new track and copying over all regions and plugins.

Tracks have no plug ins on them. Just seems like a few random stereo tracks stop playing the right channel.

Bizarre, I would normally suspect accidental automation causing this. It could still be if you are saving without changes and reopening the session fixes the issue.

Go to the automation window and try disabling all automation (don't just disable it on suspect tracks, if you for example have bussing/sends the automation may be before you think it is).

Failing that I would suspect session corruption. Try a Save Session In... and see if that helps.

Never had that one, once in rare while I will hit play on a session and all the meters are moving but there is no audio coming out, closing the session and reopening always fixes it .

I've had this in earlier versions of 12. I took out some older plugs and updated all others to their latest version. Then cleared all temp files and restarted.

Have not seen the issue since.

Just curious how does one "clear the temp files " ?

A while back streo tracks playing back only one side came up when turning off elastic audio or committing it to a track.

Easiest fix for me was turning track output off and on again though others restarted or moved a clip in the track - this was 12.6/7. Never saw it on more than one track and havent seen it since though i dont often remove or commit elastic audio anyway
