Default Mbox 2 pro no audio and error 6085

Hey there people,
Hoping everyone is fine…

I have been working with the same set up for a few years now. But all of sudden today my protools session as i open it fresh this morning it started giving me this error when pressing play: "The audio device underflow. If this occurs frequently try decreasing the H….(-6085)

I was quite surprise cause I worked on this session on saturday with no problems. At the moment I can't run any sessions, doesn't matter the amount of tracks or plugins.

Also I get no sound/audio when playing on iTunes

My set up:

MacBook Pro 2.2 Ghz Intel Core i7
16 GB Ram
ProTools 10.3.8
G-Drive 500 GB 7200 RPM

I use a daisy chain via the 800 firewire port. Laptop (800) - (800) G-Drive HD (800) - (400) Mbox 2 Pro

I have tried certain solutions offered here like trashing preferences, restarting PRAM, changing internal/ spdif / etc…

What I don't understand is that i haven't change or update anything since last time I opened this session 2 days ago.

Anyone who can help please?

Thanks

Can you try removing the external drive, for testing and just connecting the Mbox and see if that helps? I also read a KB article that mentioned this error occurs when communication with the Mbox is interrupted (possibly a bad cable?).

I'm not sure any of this will help, and perhaps you've gone through it already, but here is the Optimization Guide that you might want to go through:

Default Re: Mbox 2 pro no audio and error 6085

Hey Joel, thanks for the reply

I did try to go straight from the mbox 2 pro to the laptop with same result.

And yes, my computer has been optimised long ago to work with PT.

Funny enough, yesterday night, I open the same project again, and it worked… don't even know why but it did as i didn't really change anything…

Strange
