Default C24 Signal Routing

We just bought a C24 and I'm interested if anyone is using it to route signals to and from external gear.

We do a LOT of VO record stuff, and it's not uncommon for us to have 1 talent on ISDN, 1 in the booth, a client on phone patch.... you get the idea. We need to be able to send the ISDN and Booth mic to PT, feed the ISDN with the booth mic, feed both the ISDN and Booth mic to the phone patch, feed PT to the ISDN selectively for playbacks for talent, but not have it feed when recording, feed reference audio from CD, DVD, etc, to all involved in the session....

Right now we do it with a small analogue board with traditional busses and sends. With the flick of a button, the signal is routed as needed.

Anyone using C24 in this way?

If PT crashes wouldn't I loose communication with most or all parties?

Thanks for your input!

Default Re: C24 Signal Routing

Hi,

Give us a description of how you we're doing this with a mixer! this way someone! myself or the legendary C24 guru, Sir Scott Goldberg or someone may be able to advise the best way to use the c24.

Remember the c24 is mostly a control surface and not a mixer inself, so its a case of how to setup your Pro tools session for the routing and how c24 can be used to fasilitate the process.

Also remember that using the "software inserts" (the one's in your plugins menu) is the way to use the ADC correctly. essential for having everyone monitoring without latency!!
