fast panning issue
Hi!
Has anybody ever noticed an unconstant volume level when doing fast pannings on a mono track, that's routed to a LCR output? I'm talking about pannings shorter than approximately 12 frames. It sounds pretty much like there would be a gap in the signal. I've bounced the LCR output as mono summed , to see what's going on and make sure it's not a speaker problem. check out the following screenshot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/30218539@N06/4147346382/ The screenshot correlates pretty much to what I hear. I've checked this with a 1kHz test tone and pink noise as well as with cars passing by. best, markuse System: PT HD2 7.4cs10 2,66GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon OS 10.4.11 Tiger |

Re: fast panning issue
Fast panning = fast volume changes. Fast volume changes = amplitude modulation. That's what's happening here.

Re: fast panning issue
thanks,
that sounds logical. I checked out spreading the test tone on 3 tracks that were "fix panned" to L, C and R. Same result, if you translate the panning automation to the volume automation. It does work however, if you manipulate the lenght of the fades a little bit. So that means no fast pass bys possible, using on track. |
