mbox 2 mini problem

my mbox 2 mini XLR mic input and line/di input 1 is'nt working..everytime i press record on pro tools i get this loud high pitch noise that doesnt go away unless i change the input to line 2..even if there's nothing plugged in, i can see the distortion on the meter in pro tools..its been like this since i got it about 3months ago..i tried it on xp,vista and windows 7 (pt 7.0,7.4,8.0,8.03,8.04) same problem..any help get'n this fixed or replaced would be great..still within 1yr warranty..
