Display bug or trouble with my system? Digi Tech Help?

Already, so I'm a little late installing 5.3.1, but I just got my new system up and running with my PT le and my Waves Gold bundle and now I have a concern with what I'm seeing...

Whenever I drag any item (transport, memory location list, big counter, etc) across another item such as the edit window or the mix window, while I leave my finger down on the left button of the mouse it drags a column of white across my screen that erases everything until I release the button.

I'm not terribly concerned because the screen will correct itself when I do release the mouse, but I know this did not happen with my previous version of le, v 5.1.1, nor does it happen with my HD set-up at work.

In my previous experience, little bugs like this have always pointed to larger problems... Should I be concerned or is this normal behavior for 5.3.1?

Actually, this is a well known and completely harmless bug with ALL Windows versions of Pro Tools. It occurs on any Windows system in which "show window contents while dragging" is enabled.

You can either live with it like I do, or set Windows to NOT "show window contents while dragging," which is obviously how your other PT machines have been set in the past.

I'm assuming I can turn that off in the Control Panel somewhere, but I couldn't find where... ? Care to give me a push in the right direction?

Right-click your desktop. Choose Properties. Choose the Appearance tab. Choose the Effects button.
