Older M-Box 2 with Garageband

I have an M-Box 2 that came with Pro Tool LE 7 that I was using on a Macbook Pro which all were purchased many years a go. Stopped using Pro Tools due to health reasons and have gotten out of recording for the most part, but have Garage Band on the Macbook. When I hook up the M-Box 2 to the laptop, it is dead. I am assuming that I have to have the PT LE7 software downloaded to get the M-Box to work? If not, any advice on how to power up the box? Last time I remember, when PT was loaded and the M-Box worked, it also connected up to Garageband, so just wondering why it is dead now?

PS. I have the latest Mac OS (Mountain Lion) so I imagine PT LE7 won't work with that OS?

You need to download the most recent standalone coreaudio driver for the Mbox 2.

Whether it will work with ML is another thing but Pro Tools 7 is not going to work.

In all fairness, everything so far that worked for me on SL is working on ML so I'd expect a Lion drive to be all good.

Thanks for the info. Can you advise where I can get the download for the standalone coreaudio driver? I don't want to download PT as it seemed to mess up the Apple laptop and I had to do a complete uninstall to get the laptop running. Just want to play around with Garageband and the M-Box 2 is the only interface I have.

PS, just did a quick search for "Stand Alone Core Audio Driver" and found several, but not sure if it matters which one, etc (I'm not that great with computers, so sorry to be a pain). Any recommendations as to where to go would be appreciated.

As of Pro Tools 9 the drivers are separate to the Pro Tools install, i am unsure if this will work other than the fact it won't locate the Pro Tools install, worth a try.
