I'm not sure if you mean you don't like amp farm or it won't work in your system. If it's just that it won't work with your system I sugest to get a Pod or Pod Pro. You get some great amp sounds as well as different cabinets. I think the Pod sounds better than any amp simulator I have heard. Look at www.line6.com for more info.

Hope this helps

Seconding Spandol's comments, I am super impressed with the AC30 sound, at least, from the Pod Pro. I'm not sure I'd bet my real AC30 to sound too much better without lots of fuss. That devive has a 24 bit AES/EBU out as well.

Third here,
I actually prefer the Pod to Amp Farm most of the time. (Maybe it's the pedal type effects getting printed) The reverb sounds like 'guitar amp' reverb, and the 'room' sound isn't bad.
I find it hard adding guitar effects afterward as so many guitarists shape their sound and want to play hearing it.

Will probably buy the Pod Pro soon also.

I just upgraded my POD 1.1 to the 2.0 version. I have no desire to go back to using my SansAmp GT3 - I found it brittle most of the time.

If you can afford the POD Pro, it's got way better i/o.

The little Zoom modeler (MX3?) that is a pedalboard - not the tabletop model - also sounds pretty good and has a LOT more memory for your own presets.

The Fender Champ and Bassman settings on the POD are also awesome...well, so is the Marshall Plexi and JT-45...nearly all the amps are usable in some style...

JimmyZee,

Check out a VG-8EX from Roland. To me it sounds amazing. I a-b tested my JC120 and Gibson Les Paul to the same settings in the VG-8. I honestly couldn't tell the difference. I have heard really good things about the Pod Pro though. I was thinking about checking out the Bass POD Pro. Anyone have any feedback on that piece of gear? thnks

Chris

Chris -

The Bass POD is great too. I have that as well as the POD Pro as well as Amp Farm. I tried a few ways to get good sounds from my bass recordings but was always bummed with the end result. Now I can call up an Ampeg SVT with its 8x10 cab and really sound like a cranked tube amp. It's just as good as the guitar POD Pro. The Gallien Krueger 800RB head sounds great also, as well as the Sunn Coliseum.

Thanks for the info. Do you use the 24bit digital outs to record into Pro Tools? or do you keep the signal analog until Pro Tools? Again thanks

I know the Pod Pro has AES/EBU and S/PDIF digital outs and the AES/EBU out is 24 bit. The S/PDIF out may be 24 as well.
